So, uh, whenever I hear about Telegram, it’s always in relation to something bad. What gives? Apparently upbeat developments in Russia's discussions with Ukraine helped at least temporarily send investors back into risk assets. These fraudulent schemes offer non-existent investment opportunities, promising very attractive and risk-free returns within a short span of time. They commonly offer unrealistic returns of as high as 1,000% within 24 hours or even within a few hours. Some people used the platform to organize ahead of the storming of the U.S. Capitol in January 2021, and last month Senator Mark Warner sent a letter to Durov urging him to curb Russian information operations on Telegram.
